Savannah & Scott

Rocky Top, You’ll always be home sweet home to this bride and groom!!

Savannah and Scott love all things Tennessee and had dreamed of a wedding that showed their love for their state. That’s exactly what happened on April 27th, 2019, and it was beautifully done. Their wedding day was full of Tennessee pride, their love of their family and friends, and their faith. We arrived at The Standard to begin filming their wedding day and instantly knew this was going to be a fun day! The couple chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but took time to read letters from one another and exchange gifts around a corner. They each cried and could hardly stand to wait to see each other any longer. (But the wait would be totally worth it for the look on Scott’s face as Savannah walked down the aisle.) After some photos and the finishing touches of Scott’s Rifleman bowtie and Savannah’s “Go Vols” embroidered garter, the wedding party was ready to head to the ceremony.

The sounds of a bagpipe greeted the wedding party and guests as they arrived at The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Scott wept as he watched his bride walk down the long aisle of the beautiful cathedral, her long veil flowing behind her in the most beautiful bridal fashion. The two promised to love one another forever in front of many friends and family in the most beautiful cathedral we’ve ever seen!

After their Catholic ceremony, the couple and their wedding party hopped on a trolley to head back to The Standard for a reception where their family and friends would celebrate with them into the night. The couple entered the reception with another personal touch--groomsmen created a tunnel of lightsabers as the Star Wars theme welcomed them into the room. The evening was filled with sounds of a live band, dancing, donuts, and pom-poms. Savannah and Scott exited their reception through an exhilarating tunnel of orange and white pom-poms waived by their loved ones. It was a moment that could only be rivaled by running through the T in Neyland on a fall Saturday!
