Katie & James

As we walked in to start shooting Katie and James’s wedding, there was football on the televisions in the bridal sweet and in the lounge where the groomsmen were getting ready, and we knew these were our kind of people. The football in the background of the morning wasn’t the only thing that made it feel like a perfect fall Saturday. There were touches of fall through out Katie and James’s wedding day. From the fall-colored flowers to the pumpkins and s’mores at their reception, the touches of fall made the cool weather feel just right. Katie and her bridesmaids carried the most beautiful bouquets, and the arbor where the couple was joined as husband and wife was adorned with the vibrant oranges and reds of the season.

Katie and James chose not to see each other on their wedding day until the moment Katie was walking down the aisle, and that moment was priceless. James was able to fight back the tears earlier in the day when Katie’s sister read him a letter Katie had written to her soon-to-be husband, but there was no fighting them back as he watched his bride walk toward him. The moment was here! Katie and James were finally about to be joined as one after much anticipation. Their family and friends were so excited for the couple, but we learned from the Maid of Honor and Best Man speeches at the reception, that they were not always so sure about this relationship. Katie and James met one another through ChristianMingle and knew they had found something special in one another from the beginning. Although they had their doubts, it didn’t take their families long to come around and see that the couple was made for one another. Their families were a big part of their wedding--both Katie and James carried special family heirlooms with them on their wedding day. Katie carried a strand of pearls wrapped around her bouquet that was passed down through generations of women in her family. And James wore cufflinks that have been worn by all of the men in his family on their wedding days for generations. We loved all the details of their day that were subtle, but important to the couple.

After the ceremony, all of the guests and bridal party headed to a cocktail hour while the bride and groom enjoyed a private dinner and got to spend a few sweet moments soaking up their newly married bliss. When the bride and groom arrived at the reception, the party got started and didn’t stop. Their family and friends were excited to celebrate the couple, and they celebrated them well into the night under the reception tent at WindRiver Lakefront and Golf Community. After hours of dancing, the night ended with a sparkler send off for the bride and groom.

Katie and James, your wedding day was beautiful; it was a joy and honor to capture the memories on film for you. We hope you relive your day over and over as you enjoy watching your wedding highlight video. We wish you the very best!
